How will it work?

  • You have to be based in and around Rathmullan to be eligible to take part.

  • Create a short reels or tiktok video (max 2 mins) using your phone, tablet, or whatever’s easiest for you!

  • Submit it to rathmullanfilmfest@gmail.com using wetransfer.com

  • Please include your name, age and contact details. You can also tell us in a few lines what your film is about.

  • Deadline: 19 January (this deadline is final and late submissions won't be accepted).

  • Your film will be shown at our Gala Night on Thursday, 20th February 2025 and you will take part in an awards ceremony.

Some housekeeping rules:

  • DO NOT film other people without their consent (they have to agree to be filmed AND agree to the film being used and shared publicly)

  • DO NOT share files directly to our Facebook or upload them to your own social media.

  • By submitting your video to us, you’re confirming that all rules were followed and consent is given to the Film Festival for the film to be used online and to be archived.

Here are some fun and creative themes to inspire your video:

  1. My First Film Love: Share the first movie that made you fall in love with cinema!

  2. A Scene Remade: Recreate an iconic movie scene with your own twist.

  3. Movie Magic in Rathmullan: Highlight your favorite spots in Rathmullan as a backdrop for a cinematic moment.

  4. Festival Fun: Share what you love most about the Rathmullan Film Festival, from favorite memories to what excites you this year.

  5. Dream Role: Act out a character or scene from the film you wish you could star in.

  6. 130 Seconds of Cinema Love: Celebrate 130 years of cinema in a snappy 130-second tribute.

  7. Why We Love Cinema: Showcase clips of friends or family sharing why they love movies and their must-watch films.
